August

saturday august 6

we started off the month of august celebrating skylee's 2nd birthday which was on cardston heritage days. the best part about this weekend was that my whole family was here (minus coby) ALL the grandkids. 1st time in 2 years. fun fun fun!!!

the day started out with the parade....i LOVE LOVE LOVE parades. i luv the crowds of people, sitting and chatting, and the excitment and anticipation from the kids. skylee was in heaven, running up and finding cuckers (suckers)!! ryder is funny....he loves to get out there and get a handful of candy, then sit down and eat and enjoy the parade. jaylene on the other hand can't get ENOUGH lol. she's right up there waiting and waiting for the next handful of candy to get thrown. pyper was grumpy cuz it was nap time.

after the parade, we packed up, headed home an started to get things set up. (we put pyper to bed too)
my brother cade started BBQing for us and we got the table set up and veggies cut, and kira went around and took some pictures of everything.

we ate, hung out, laughed, ate some more, and then started playing. i rented a water jumparoo from a friend in town and the kids had a BLAST!!!! definalty looking into buying one.
they played hard for a good hour, and then we moved on to eating cake and cupcakes, which of course was another hit ;) and then we did the pinata (which was handmade by my own mexican....with the help of j&r)
and then we moved on to PRESENTS!!!! haha she got spoiled rotten and LOVED everything.
(she also go bit by a mosquito sometime this day and that is why her eye is so swollen)

we cleaned up and hung out for the rest of the day. kids played & adults chatted (some napped) it was so great to be with the family. i wish we could do it more often.

later that night, we went to eat at mings (cade's favorite when he comes back to canada) then headed up to the fireworks. IT WAS  GREAT DAY!!

we stayed over night and went to church with the parents and cades family, then typh and the boys and kira's family came after church and mom had made a nice dinner. after we were done eating we got the kids together to get a grandkid picture....mom didn't care the quality, if they were looking, or if they were screaming she just wanted ONE so we got one and it's actually not that bad...malinah doesn't like group pictures but hey it's still cute!!!

L-R: jaylene holding pyper, skylee, ryder, (mine of course) koen, nash, on laps is cooper (coby's kids) keegan holding malinah (cade's kids) and bella holding colton (kira's kids

jaylene baptism pictures- august 10

i wanted some nice pictures of jaylene to scrapbook, display and for invitation so i headed into lethbridge, took jaylene to nikki so she she could do her hair and then met kelsey pankhurst in a park on the west side and got some AMAZING pics. she did a FANTASTIC job and jaylene looked as beautiful as ever. it only took us an hour, then jaylene and i headed to see nikki at her work, then headed to wal mart for som errands and lunch. jaylene really liked having a just US day. it was pretty fun.

whoop dee doo days- august

last year we took the kids to whoop up days but didn't realize how expensive it was...we spent alot of money. then my sister informed me that the have kids days from 12-3 where all the rides were 1 ticket ($1) instead of like 7 or 8 tickets a ride. so this year of course we did that...and it was awesome. kids get in free so we paid for our admission and hen bought like $25 in tickets and the kids went on almost ALL the rides.  the people there were even really good about letting jaylene take skylee on quite a few. she was in HEAVEN. poor pyps just hung out in the stroller but she did awesome and never complained once!

we partied and played hard for 3 straight hours, then we let each one play one of the games where you win a "prize" (if thats what a cheap little stuffy is lol) jaylene & ryder both picked pop the balloon with the darts and skylee did pick the duck. the love thier little stuffies so it was worth it :) we then headed out for some much needed lunch at our favorite place moxies.

it was a fantastic day and the kids did so well!! i <3 my "little" family ;)

*august things we did that never got any pictures taken*

-played LOT'S, lot's of bik rides, walks, park playing, movie nights
-we also went to a BBQ up at my birth mom's house.
-jaylene and ryder went camping for 10 days with thier bevans family
-lot's of lethbridge shopping trips. kids are getting SOO behaved in public, i'm quite proud. when i lived in cardston i always left my kids with my mom cuz it was just so much more simpler...well my kids never went anywhere with us lol. now that we live away they come anywhere and everywhere (now that i'm daring with the 2 babies) and they have done GREAT!!

skylee random

-started sleeping in her big girl bed....it wasn't easy but we conquered it lol
-loves to walk around in mommies shoes
-is always in the bathroom with someone is in the shower and she DEMANDS you sing to her...mostly popcorn popping.
-some strange reason loves wearing the "googles" she will walk around in them for hours
-wearing the jammies that aunt lynda and uncle merlin brought back from china
-got dressed and ready and thought it was warm out...well when we got outside it was hailing....skylee was fascinated. she just stood there and watched it.

august 27- jaylene's baptism

the night before, my bestie and i worked our butts off to get everything ready for the next day. after we put the kids to bed we headed over to the church to set up and see what room they scheduled us for. well the room they gave us was PERFECT! it had it's own kitchen...and it was BIG which is a plus with all the fmaily jaylene and ryder have. so after we learned about the kitchen we headed home and did all the food prep and brought it back along with all the other kitcheny stuff. karim was of course at work so i'm so thankful for nikki and all the help she gave me and gives me! we love her, she's a part of our family!

what an amazing day!! we didn't schedule it till a little later so that our morning wasn't CRAZY so that was nice. after karim, jaylene, ryder and i were ready we headed out to take some quick pictures

then we were off to the church to set up the baptism room and get white clothes ect. nikki stayed home while both babies napped (we needed them rested and happy lol)

people started showing up and i knew that it would be better to get pics sooner rather than later, so we waiting by the door and as they walked in we made them walk back out to get a picture lol

after nikki got there with the girls, we took our pictures

after the pictures were all said and done we headed into start. jaylene's gramma ruby did the talk on baptism, jaylene sang a beautiful song and did awesome (no i did not cry...ok maybe i did a little) then her daddy jason baptised her. very. proud. mom. i. was. :) while we (meaning nikki) were getting her dressed and ready i had made a little book of her baptism pictures and had pieces of paper for people to write her little notes....so that's what they did while they waited.

gramma ann gave the talk on the holy ghost and daddy karim confirmed her. it was such a nice day and she LOVED that it was focused on her, and that made me happy.

we then headed up to our special room to eat bunwiches, salads, butter horns and chit chat. the kids loved all being together.

besisdes a few mis-haps and some pouting (that i chose to ignore... GO ME lol) it was a wonderful day and we are so thankful for the love and support from our family and friends. THANK YOU EVERYBODY!

august 29- waterfight

FHE- we called the kids outside and sent them in the yard to "find" something....ya there was nothing to find we just wanted them out so we could throw water balloons at them hahahaha. they loved it lol, the were surprised and even skylee got in on the action....we got to impatient for water ballons so just opted for buckets and empty pop bottles.  "it's the little things that matter"  pyper didn't love getting wet but OH WELL, she got over it lol

and pyps- 7 months

-started getting on all 4's and rocking....started crawling about 10 days later.
-started teething...over night had 3 teeth that had broken through....then screamed for the next 48 hours straight. she wanted her soother so bad but it must have hurt cuz she would just hold it.
-playing with gramma is a FAV.
-loves to sit and watch all her siblings do what they do during the day. she loves them
-sleeps pretty good but still wakes up around 4-5 for a bottle.
-loves her soother but only for bed. when she wakes up it stays in her bed...never has it when she's hanging out.
-is the happiest kid....just loves to hang out with her big gummy grin and smile at everybody and everything.

august 30- BACK TO SCHOOL- YIPPPEEEEEEE

my kids (and i) couldn't WAIT for school to start. jaylene had her outfit picked out weeks before lol. it was hard to get them to quite down and get to bed at a decent hour though.  jaylene woke up bright and early with a smile on her face. i had made muffins the night before and had breakfast waiting. she got dressed and ate while i showered, then we headed to th school together. she was nervous at first cuz it was her 1st time ever seeing the school, seeing the teacher and meeting her fellow classmates. but she warmed up pretty fast. her teacher is jodi jensen from cardston and anybody that knows them knows they are fun! it also helped that she has a little girl from her primary class in her school class.

after we picked her up at noon we had a little surprise waiting....we had plannd a "back to school party"
we made a cake that looks like a pencil...had a fun luch waiting, and had a couple activities waiting. gramma also couldn't wait to hear about jaylene's 1st day of school. we wrote out some goals that they each wanted to achieve this school year. then we wrote family goals. after that we read a couple "school" stories....mostly kindergarten ones for ryder, played some games, then had cake. kids went out to ride bikes and karim and i started supper. my mom came up for the night to babysit cuz i had an appt in lethbridge that i had to be at for 2 hours, then karim and i went on a date after.
THANKS MOM!

and that was our month....i'm sure there was LOTS more but thats what i have documented with pictures. we had a GREAT summer!!!
