christmas eve we hung out and watched the grinch with candy cane popcorn, read and acted out the nativity story with our little figurines, opened jammies, blanket and a book. then got the kids snuggled up in gramma and grampa's bed so that santa could come. then daddy and i got busy with our preperations, and dear little skylee didn't go to bed until 3:00am...naughty baby!
christmas morning
i woke up at 8 to do the usual- pee lol and the house was quiet...remember we are NOT early risers lol. i snuck upstairs to brush teeth, comb my hair, and wake up daddy (member we can't sleep in the same bed) well everybody heard me while i was in the washroom getting ready and everybody waited anxiously to go see if santa had come. we had them sit on the couch and wait cuz thier daddy jason wanted to be here when they opened gifts so we called and waited (i know that might sound weird to some, but that's normal for us and i wouldn't want it any other way. we have a great relationship and my kids benefit from it immensly)
so he got here 2 min later, and we all headed downstairs..... it was so fun to see thier faces. i REALLY wanted to video camera it but we couldn't find my mom's, so pictures is all we get.
jaylene REALLY wanted this puppy. actually she has wanted a puppy for year but because of her allergies and asthma she can't have one so when she saw the ad for this she fell. in. love. she never asked us for it but she did ask all the santa's for it (we saw about 5) she informed karim about 3 days before christmas the there was no santa clause....i was devastated, i didn't want the innocence to be gone. karim had asked her why she thought that, and she said all the santa's looked different, some had short beards and some had long.... some had blue eyes, some had brown. (i knew she was too observant lol) but we had a talk with her telling her that santa is very busy and he has lot's of helpers. and so...because she ONLY asked santa for the puppy dog, santa left her a note...asking her to still believe. she was so excited, it made me happy :)
ryder got so many fun things he's still opening packages haha. he was so cute, every thing he opened he loved, there were no favorites, just excitement over everything.
and skylee....she didn't want her picture taken lol. she was to busy in the kids excitement...she didn't even open her gifts until everything was done. so i didn't get very many but she loved her gifts also....along with jaylenes puppy of course lol. oh and the candy canes...she went around to everybodies piles and stole them haha. which was cute and fun but even more so because my parents have a video of me around 2 stealing all the candy canes from stockings ;)
after the kids were done, daddy jason went home and daddy karim and i opened up our stockings to each other. that's all we did this year because we bought a van. but it was fun...we set an amount and had to fill the stocking...it took alot of thinking haha.
karim got me....and LDS novel (already done, it was really good) dolce & gabbana perfume, a frame with japanese writing that means happiness (i luv japanese/chinese writing), the new josh groban CD, new socks, my favorite chocolate truffles
i got karim....the 4 books the missionaries have (he wanted them in english) along with preach my gospel, a john byetheway CD, a WII game that he played on playstation as a young boy and has been wanting for awhile, expendables the movie (not my kinda show but he loves em) a VW key chain with #1 dad engraved on it
that could be all, but i'm not sure haha.
after stockings we headed upstairs to have our yummy yummy skones with honey butter. mmmmmm makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
