in a nut shell

well life has been pretty slow these last couple of weeks. with karim in school all day then working all night we don't get out much anymore. i was pretty spoiled with having him home with me and the girls all day for a year... septembers been a hard adjustment

we've been trying to occupy our days doing other stuff like crafts ect.

we did slime... didn't love it, but the kids liked it

pyper just kind of poked for a little while lol

jaylene got right in there.

Skylee wouldn't touch it at 1st, she was afraid it would wreck her "pretties" (nail polish) but after some convincing that it won't she started playing

ryder would have NOTHING to do with it until jaylene started playing then it was like instantly he had to touch it haha

another craft that we did was these cute thanksgiving stick things... skylee loved it and built her's all by herself. pyper on the other hand tried to eat them. yup, i'm raising a smart kid!

We also went to the town's fall fest. the big kids were with their dad for that weekend so it was just us girls. this year they brought in a bouncy house for the little little guys and even though some parents pouted and were ridiculous about it,  i LOVED it i hate when you send in these little babies that want to go in so so bad with a freaking 10 year old. even then, at the end an older girl snuck in and jumped and landed on skylee's foot and she got pretty hurt. couldn't walk normally for a good 2 weeks! UGH! but regardless, they had fun, and they had fun picking a little prize :)

another thing we did was head to the green haven pumpkin thing. again the big kids were with their dad (seems all the fun things happen on his weekend, blah) it was fun, and the girls enjoyed it. BUT we went at like prime time for heat and it was hott. and it was so so so busy. i didn't love that either haha but whatevs. pyper is terrified of everything. it took some warming up but she held the bunny and her face was pure joy. then she tried feeding a goat and as soon as it put it's head down to take a bite she screamed, dropped the cone and dove into karims arms lol.

and lastly jaylene FINALLY got her surgery. we've waited since january 2011! that's 20 months people! pyper's whole life hah. the point of getting surgery was to get her tonsils out, but when we saw the specialist he checked her over and asked if she had trouble breathing. well if you've been around her you know that answer. he nose is ALWAYS stuffed. can barely breath when she's eating, snores and breaths so loud, sniffles, and blows her nose a 1000 times a day (no kidding) i just thought it was from all her allergies. well when he looked up her nose he had said that the cartilage in her nasal canal was almost completely blocked, and when she was under he was going to take out her adenoids and scrape her nose. YAAA! we were thrilled. poor girl.  grandma came and stayed the night monday and by 7am tuesday we were headed into lethbridge. jaylene was nervous but we were keeping it light and saying how awesome all the popsicles, ice cream, ect she gets to have.

we go there and go settled in pediatric's day surgery and they got her ready. i knew she was scared and nervous.. then the student nurse came in to tell her what was going to happen and explain what the magic cream is for her IV. as the nurse was explaining things to jaylene i saw her eyes start to fill and a single tear slid down her cheek and i lost it. i knew that i needed to be strong but i was sad she had to go thru that alone. i held it together so she didn't see me. and they have a great system so the parents are basically with them the whole time while they are awake. we went down to pre-op with her and hung out in the FREEZING room and waited. we made lot's of jokes and kept everything light hearted. we would see little people going in for surgery and older people coming out so karim told her "look jaylene, when you go into surgery you come out old" she wasn't impressed lol. she could take a stuffy with her and she chose her little round gum drop stuff that she got for her b-day. she then left us and went to surgery where she was out within 2 min.

we went and had breakfast and hung out in the van while we waited. couple hours later we headed back in and saw a lady with the same stuff as jaylenes but like a mother one... huge! i told karim we had to find that. so we did, and we planned to switch it with her little one to show her that it grew in surgery haha. by the time we got to her room she was just getting there. she looked good, sooo out of it.  she whispered "hi" and i had to hold back my tears cuz she just looked so little and fragile there :( she fell asleep super fast and basically stayed asleep the whole 4 hours that we were there.

when she did wake up off and on we would switch the little stuffy with the big one and she would be so confused haha, we would tell her what happened but she was so out of it i don't think she totally got it. she did say "i wish it was little again so i could hold it" then fall back asleep. wake up to the little one and just grab it and hold it lol.

her grandma & grandpa bevans sent up a really cute monster stuff and get well balloon. and her daddy jason and uncle jeff stopped by and brought flowers, another balloon and a monkey stuffy. she had to get up and use the washroom and do a little walk for the nurses and she did pretty good. she wasn't happy about doing it though. she HATED the IV but i can't blame her cuz i have a fear of them too.

finally we got to come home. the kids get a prize from the childrens wish foundation when they leave and they picked out a nice bag full of games, cards, archie books, crayons, word search. fun stuff!

she had to have tylenol every 4 hours for 48 hours, and drink LOTS of water, so that her scabs with stay hydrated and just kinda flake off over time (barf) she is having a hard time talking normally and if that doesn't go away by monday we have to go back in and make sure everything is fine. she's been so strong, had a couple melt downs cuz of pain. mostly at night but i think she's done GREAT! we are soo happy to have it done and out of the way :)

and some randoms that probably have all been seen either on facebook or instagram

-pyper now climb out of her crib and i find her on the dresser... i don't love that but i can't put her in a toddler bed cuz she would never leave skylee alone.
-the little girls and i were out and about and thought we would pick up the big kids and take them to subway. they loved it
