holy birthdays.. half our family is within 2 weeks! 

ryder turned 7... this is crazy to me... i wasn't as shocked with jaylene, probably because she is the oldest... but now that it's ryder... it's strange. 

this year is our "off" friends year so it a was pretty simple day. it's still their day though and i like to make them feel special. 

karim and i stayed up till about 2 getting ready (poor karim had to be up by 6 to do a paper) 

he assembled ryder's bike and i decorated and wrapped.

as i was making breakfast ryder woke up and didn't notice anything. he took a little while to wake up, but once he saw what was there he was WIDE awake and SUPER excited!! he's been wanting something like this for years. 

we sat down and ate some yummy cake batter pancakes

and after he unwrapped his little gift... a spiderman necklace.

isn't he so so handsome!!

his dad called and wished him happy birthday and then they were out the door! 

as soon as the kids got home we had cupcakes and sang happy birthday.

then, karim went to work and we played outside.

 ryder then got some mail from grandma cori (my birth mom)

 the kids watched a movie and played with balloons and i made supper. ryder picked broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl and rootbeer.

it was a great day! i think he had fun and felt special. he was very thankful for everything. 

look at that baby!! i miss that little 1-2 year old. we were seriously best friends! he was (is) the best kid. was happy just to sit and play as long as he could see me. 

7 things about ryder roo!!

- he doesn't like to be in pajamas/sweats. 1st thing he does in the morning is get dressed. 

- he LOVES pyper, but him and skylee don't get along.. i blame middle child syndrome... we just keep them apart. they don't sit together at the table, or in the car, or anywhere. 

- he's super sensitive. doesn't like when your upset with him.

-very sweet and always notices the little things in life.

- LOVES to play on the ipads. would do it all day!

- eats pretty much anything... can't think of anything that he dislikes. 

- loves school, and learning, always waiting for the next thing to happen

we love this boy!! he sometimes feels left out being the only boy... but he's turned out pretty great!
